Scrapping the (Pork) Barrel

On Monday, Filipinos are urged to troop to Luneta Park to urge the scrapping of the Priority Development Assistance  Fund better known as PDAF or pork barrel.

Even our OFW's are joining the call for protest as they organize themselves in various countries around the world.

What started out as a simple event call in Facebook drew an overwhelming response from citizens who are fed up and outraged by this issue.

People have now been calling this, e-People Power.  And as fun loving pinoys that we are, various tech savvy individuals have lent their creative spirits in making this controversy creative, if not entertaining.

One of my favorite would be from Pugad Baboy titled "No Pork Diet" as seen on this link.
On a surprising note, PNOY announced this Friday that he will be abolishing PDAF in a speech aired live nationwide.
It took tremendous balls on the part of the President to make this call. This is a gutsy decision that would probably not earn him points with our lawmaker…

Puso ang panlaban ng Pilipinas!

The Philippines celebrated a historic day of hearts as our national team moves to the FIBA Asia finals.  A feat that was 36 years in coming.

Our Gilas boys outsmarted the much taller and feared players from the Kimchi country to bring home an 86-79 win over Korea.

For anyone who wonder why we like basketball so much since we lack the height required to play this game, we just showed them why.  We don't need it.  Our boys were fierce, fast and fearless. They showed Korea and the rest of the world how basketball should be played.

This win guaranteed a silver for the Philippines if not a chance to get a gold.

I am not a fan of basketball or any other sports, but I have always believed that sports is a great equalizer especially when you see your underd…

Guy's Happy Ending

You think fairy tales are only for girls? Here’s a hint - ask yourself who wrote them. I assure you, it wasn’t just the women. It’s the great male fantasy - all it takes is one dance to know that she’s the one. All it takes is the sound of her song from the tower, or a look at her sleeping face. And right away you know - this is the girl in your head, sleeping or dancing or singing in front of you. Yes, girls want their princes, but boys want their princesses just as much. And they don’t want a very long courtship. They want to know immediately.
