I'm Running in the Rain, what a glorious feeling!

I will never be a sporty person.
While friends my age has delightedly embraced the whole “healthy living” mantra, I will forever be stuck with my own which is a derivative of the ever famous “Let us eat and be merry for tomorrow we shall die”.

Thus, it was a personal shock that I decided to enlist in a fun run (mind you, I have a totally different idea of fun and it usually does not involve moving and getting tired).

As further proof of my insanity, I dragged my younger sister with me since I know that she will benefit from losing some pounds.

This is my sister whom we fondly call Porky. She likes it, I know she does. And we love her, fats and all!

Unfortunately for us, Sept. 22 turned out to be a rainy Sunday morning which for my true self is just the perfect day (and weather) to lie down and get lots of sleep. My real idea of fun.

But since I am loathe to waste what would probably be the only moment I aspire to get healthy, I decided to go for it and run.

Yes, run in the rain – slippery road,…

Conversation with Richard Madden - Nerd HQ HD

2 of my favorite guys in 1 video?

Guess this is my lucky day.

I never thought the day would come when Chuck would meet the King of the North, Robb Stark.

Richard Madden gets interviewed in NerdHQ’s Conversations for a Cause benefiting Operation Smile.

King of the North looks so charmingly shy and awkward during the interview. But so endearingly lovable.

Let me just say that his accent is “to die for”.  And props to the panel for making this a very lively and interesting converstation.

Here are some bits from the panel conversation:

On being Prince Charming:“It's not a promotion though, I mean I’m down to being a prince.”

On who he would like to have single combat fight with: “I'd like to have a fight with Jon Snow.I wouldn’t know who would win it.  It would be the best fight and it would be to the death.”
(Someone shouted Geoffrey here but Richard quipped “it wouldn't last long if it was Geoffrey, would it?”)

On who he would like on the Iron Throne:“A combination of Jon Snow and Dana…

This is my attempt at being funny.

Men, I'm not sorry if you are annoyed.

Batfleck won't work

There are casting mistakes that you can forgive and let go like Tobey Maguire as Spiderman (not to mention having Kirsten Dunst in that same movie).
But not when the casting is so ill suited it makes me wanna puke.
Ben Affleck as Batman?
Whatever happened to the world?
People say Hollywood is bad.  And I guess, this is one of those times that I agree with them.
Ben Affleck is "passable" as Daredevil.  He is an award winning director and writer.  He is even a good family man and father.
But he can NEVER be the caped crusader.
Besides, why Ben when you can have this guy?
With the overwhelming bad reactions to this news, some Batman concept art has leaked online presumably to convince the fans that "Batfleck" might actually work.

Whether this is official or not, I'm still not convinced.

"Potential" Investment

I find it funny how some smart and independent women  find ways to creatively look for "Mr. Right".  Just take this article from Huffpost where an ad executive promised to pay $10,000 to the person who introduces her to her future husband, stating:

"If I wanted a new job, would I sit in the lobby of an employer's building just hoping that someone would offer me my dream job?  No. If I want a husband, will he just show up out of thin air and ask me to hang out with him for the rest of his life?  No."

And while being a Filipina means that some of us still dream of being courted and expect men to make the first move, I am all for being practical and proactive.

In fact, let me direct you to one of my earlier post about a mother who created a website to find women to date his son.  An example of a loving mother but a scary future mother in law.

Not to mention the various "specialized" dating websites which feature people who share a love for salads, clowns,…
